Highlights, To Grow Your Knowledge with ProVation® Order Sets
Automatic Authentication, click your way to
CME/CE credits
Having an institutional or individual subscription to UpToDate allows ProVation Order Set users to be automatically recognized by UpToDate when clicking on an UpToDate link or performing an UpToDate search in ProVation Order Sets.
This automatic authentication feature allows you to earn CME/CE credits for UpToDate sessions that meet the requirements established by the AMA.
Reuse the Statements, from multiple authoritative sources
ProVation Order Sets has always provided a simple, easy way to link into medical evidence in various Wolters Kluwer Health resources including UpToDate, Clin-eguide, Ovid and more. Now there is a new type of link called ‘UpToDate narratives.’ An UpToDate narrative is a brief one- or two-sentence recommendation excerpted directly from an UpToDate topic with a live link back to the corresponding topic.
Easy-To-Read Order Set Format, visualizing the order set-made easy
Order set owners and reviewers can now do all their work while viewing an order set in a simple format that resembles a printed order set. Orders are displayed as easy-to-read order sentences.
In addition, reviewers have new options for arranging information in the ‘Comments’ window in the most convenient way.
Flexibility, with creating order set content
With this product update you can change the labeling and sequence of order set sections; change or remove a sub-section label; and drag-and-drop an orderable item to any section or subsection within the order set.
Complex Orders, building content using logical statements
Order sets can include logical statements – such as ‘If…then’ or ‘Step 1’ or ‘and’ – that tie orderable items together. This new feature can be used to create complex orders, for example: sliding scale insulin, heparin protocols and blood glucose monitoring.
Embedded Modular Content, improves efficiency, consistency and quality
Order set owners can create order set content in a modular way and assemble these modules to form whole order sets, improving efficiency, consistency and quality.
Any order set can contain any number of embedded modules. Likewise, an order set can contain embedded references to other order sets. Then, if content is modified in an embedded module or an embedded order set, the ‘parent’ order set automatically reflects those changes. All embedded content is authored under the same security and process management controls as normal order sets and a history log is maintained for each piece of embedded content.
